Spam web host knocked offline

Web host McColo has been switched off following claims that its client list includes some of the largest cyber-criminal gangs in the world. It is thought that that over 200 billion spam messages were sent every day through McColo.

Computer company Security Fix contacted the internet providers that manage more than 90 per cent of the company's connection, and sent information about activities at McColo. The amount of Spam dropped immediately.

Unfortunately this will be a temporary lull as the amount of money involved leads to organised criminal enterprises. So there may be a drop in the amount of spam for a week or so but not for much longer.
