Wiltshire solicitor to be one of youngest coroners in country

Solicitor David Ridley, 43, currently assistant deputy coroner has been named as the first full-time coroner for Wiltshire and Swindon.

He replaces David Masters, who retired from the top job at the beginning of the year, but will continue as an assistant deputy dealing with military inquests.

Mr Ridley a specialist in dispute resolution and employment law, will leave his post at Salisbury solicitors Whitehead Vizard and take up his new role on April 1.

The coroner’s office administration offices are to move to Devizes, but inquests will continue to be held around the county.
