Banking experts to name and shame

German economist Klaus Regling and Max Watson, are banking experts who have been appointed by the Irish Government to conduct a preliminary inquiry into the origins of the Irish banking crisis.

The report due to be completed by the end of May, will name the institutions involved and responsible but not individuals.

This will lead to a statutory Commission of Inquiry later this year into the near-collapse of the system before the banking guarantee was introduced in September 2008.
